1. What stays on your device
The extension stores its working data locally on your computer:
- In IndexedDB (local): saved review IDs, review text and ratings, product metadata, generated analysis results, comparison groups, purchase baselines, judgments and notes.
- In extension storage (local): your settings and the translation cache.
Original reviews are kept separate from translations and from your judgements (inclusion/exclusion decisions and notes). Nothing in this data set is uploaded, synced, or shared by the extension.
2. No usage tracking or cloud sync
The extension does not collect usage analytics or telemetry. Review and research data stay on your device, without automatic uploads or cloud synchronization.
3. Network activity that does exist
The extension connects to Amazon when you browse supported pages or start an analysis. It checks up to five additional review pages sequentially, at least two seconds apart, with up to 50 reviews total including the current page. A temporary inactive Amazon tab may use the official show-more control or retrieve Amazon-provided translations in your selected language, then close. Collection stops on repeated results, sign-in requirements or access blocks. There is no background polling, server-side collection or access-control bypass. Lemon Squeezy receives license activation and validation metadata, never review content or analysis data.
4. Exports, backups, and uninstall
Exports (CSV, Markdown, JSON) and manual backups are entirely user-controlled: you decide what leaves your machine and where it goes. There is no cloud backup or automatic sync. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data. You can permanently delete individual products in Trash or empty Trash after confirmation. This removes their saved reviews, analysis history, purchase records, group links and evidence judgments, and clears the shared translation cache. Other saved products and group notes remain. Previously exported backup files are not changed.
5. This website
This site uses no statistical trackers, cookies for analytics, or contact forms. The hosting provider may process ordinary technical access logs (for example, to serve requests and keep the service running). The interactive workspace demo on this website stores its sample comparison groups, judgments and notes in your browser's own local storage for this site, separate from the extension's data. The demo's reset button removes those demo changes from your browser.
If you email us, your message and email address are handled by our email provider so we can respond.
6. Payments and licensing
Pro purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy. When you activate a Pro license, the extension sends the license key and configured Review Scout product binding to Lemon Squeezy's License API to validate access. It keeps only the license state needed for access (such as the key, instance and expiry metadata) in local extension storage; review and research data remain local. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy and payment terms apply to checkout.
